In collaboration with the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Hirosaki University, we intend to advanced research and development and find out novel technologies that can protect the global environment and promote the sustainable development of society as a whole, including the controlling of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and reduction of the burden on ecosystems on the earth.

Storage batteries are used in a variety of applications, including personal computers and emergency power supplies. Lithium-ion batteries, which represent currently the predominant storage battery system, have risks, for example, of smoke generation due to using liquid electrolyte, and their performance is approaching their limit. We are therefore conducting research into a high-capacity storage battery system with a high level of safety.
